when i double clikc giuld wars i get an error that says,"Gw.exe
a serious error has accured that prevents the program from continuing to run; however you can prevent this error from occuring in the future by sending this error report to arena net." How can i fix this error?

I dont see an explaination of error code=027 So here is an idea...
Code=027 "Network error. Please check you connection to the internet and try again."
After looking all around to find the meaning of the code=027, with no luck (did you know even plaync knowledge base doesnt have this code listed?), I uninstalled and reinstalled both games, which didn't help.
Then it hit me...
I started up the game again, and when i went to add the key to my existing account.. I realized, I had been using my PlayNC Master Account name, instead of my email address that I usually use to login the game.
So I tried again, using my Factions account email address, and my password and it went ahead with no error. I now have access to both Prophecies, and Factions. Silly oversight, but it worked for me =) I hope this helps anyone else who has this problem.

I know what it means....I was just reporting another error code, but thanks anyways (I named it the same ON PURPOSE, so I could get the code, but I cant read my handwriting so I was almost positive it was 29)
in other news:
error code 141
"Your play time has ended. To continue playing, please purchase Guild Wars. See www.guildwars.com for more information. (Code=141)"
tried to get a screenee but my play time ended so I guess it got nerfed then too.....this was at the end of the nightfall preview freebee account....when it disconnected me....nightfall preview has ended.

Don't know how much help this is to anyone but i read somewhere that err007 is frequently caused when you have a Dynamic IP address and your ISP changes it while you are playing...

That section in the official advice about error 7:

They ought to mention - ENABLE THEM AGAIN AFTERWARDS!
Whilst what they said will prevent and background things interfering, it will also cause serious problems in the operation of your PC due to third party things that you WANT to run in the background being disabled. Off the top of my head, this would disable all your antivirus protection, any software firewall you might be running, any special hotkeys you might have on your keyboard, extra mouse functions if you have a multi-button mouse, the iTunes service, etc...

I got code=010 while logging on. The game was taking a long while to log me in, and then appeared to hang for a while after I selected my character and downloaded whatever it downloads before letting me into ToA. In fact... as I type the same thing seems to have happened while changing districts (but I haven't got the error msg yet -- fingers crossed). I have had error=010 before, and I definitely don't use bots or attempt "illegal" actions.
PS. no error came up, it took it's time but eventually succeeded in changing districts.

Another solution: If any of your friends do have broadband (better if they play GW too), ask them to download the updates for you. This is a service I have provided a number of times for one of my friends. I just stick the client on a DVD and pass it over to him at university.

I can't install Nightfall cause I'm being told by my PC that the Gw.dat file is already being used.
Actual message:
Unable to open Archive File
Guild Wars is unable to access it's archive file C:\Program File\Guild Wars\Gw.dat. Please verify that this file is accessible and writeable, and that no other program is currently using it.
What the heck does that mean?? (you can't tell I'm no PC Guru)
I finally said "screw this" & uninstalled everything .. but when I tried to install plain GW (the original game), I'm still getting the same thing!
I'm using WinXp .. where can I go to see what programs are using this file?
Any & ALL info will be very appreciated!!
In plain simple words .... HELP!!!!

A friend of mine got Error 045.
But he didn't do wrong things with it....
He just instal GW onhis New Computer, and copied his old files over the new one's, because all his weapons where gone....
He play't for like 4 times, and then he give that error....
very strange, because he dind't do anything elegals....
Hope you know the answer, because he wants his account back...
He pay'd the full pound for it, so he has all the right to play....

Here's an odd one for you all.
I made a new ele in tyrian pre. I go along lvling her until all quest are done..sheesh..lvl 7..but hey..she had a white dye drop for her!
Now....I attempt to leave pre...bam!..err 007
Tech support has been on this since last friday and so far..no luck.
I created a test char....took him to lvl 2 in pre and left with no prob...Completly weird.

Today I got 2 code=010 and it was very odd, and very frustrating.
First time, I was at the end of the Gate of Madness mission. Second time, on the 4th level of Tombs.
The only thing these two events had in common were I was salvaging in inventory during the time BEFORE the update, when you used to get "You have fought too recently to do this" message would come up.
I tried to send a support ticket but NCSoft's support system is so skewed I had a hard time remembering Game ID vs PlayNC account name and gave up trying to report. :/
(I have sent successful reports before, but this system didn't recognize that I was the same person, or something... "This account is already in use." Sigh. the internet and all the passwords you need to know.....)

Since yesterday im unable to download anything from guild wars,my conection keeps geting 16Kb evry 2 minutes.I tried to reinstal the game,but the same thing hapend when it started downloading from arena.net.I checked zone alarm and GW has full acess. Im using DSL 256Kb\s
This is realy iritating so can some1 plz help

what does this mean? ^^ i get "code=180" if i want to add my gamestar key for this grey giant and it say something about "network problems"...
but i can play normal like all the time bevore.

I found one... when checking out of the store..
I've tried closing out of the game, retyping everything, switching cards and then back to the one I'm using, I have no idea to to fix it!
